I can still remember the moment when by best buddy came in for an official job interview. It was her everlasting wish for this form of opportunity to arise and wishes everthing will come out the way she favored it to. Who could blame her when in fact being a writer for a well-known fashion magazine had been her lifelong wish. Rather than taking heed to the instructor when we were still in school, she would in secret read through Vogue and read about fashion, beauty points, celebrity comments and more. I think it was because of her influence that I took up Journalism also. On the actual interview date, she woke up early and wore her greatest business garb. As the expression goes, she's "dressed to kill". She was very thrilled that she showed up an hour earlier than her actual schedule. She then came up to the someone in-charge at the reception area, introduced herself and told the lady that she was scheduled for an interview. After her introduction, the receptionist then proceeded to ask her for her CV and recent photograph. Alas, because of her excitement, she forgot to bring the envelope containing all of her documents at home and if she will go back to get them she will never make it to the interview on time. Fortunately, I was near the vicinity to assist her with her dilemma. I brought my laptop and asked her to make another resume again. An abyss, void of anything - that was her. It seemed as if her brain and all her faculties ceased to function. So instead of making another CV we got one from her email but then again theres another problem. She doesnt have any picture that we can place on her resume. Have you taken a photo with your camera phone? A lady who happen to be passing by asked. My friend nodded yes. But I was not sure if we can do it. How in God's name will we be able to transfer a picture from a phone to a computer w/o Bluetooth? Thinking, thinking, thinking really hard. And then it hit me: DATA CABLE. The lady handed over this gadget and saved my friends life. Little as it may seem but this device makes wonders. One can connect her mobile phone as a wireless modem to a computer or laptop and access internet from anywhere through the use of an inexpensive data cable. The data cable provides data communication between two devices. Files such as pictures, documents, movies, etc. can be transfered in this way. Pretty neat! Well, who knew that my best friends lifesaver would come in such little inexpensive package?
